Gourmet Enterprise in Kyrenia
Who isn’t happy eating a carefully prepared meal?! Bringing together fresh and exclusive ingredients that get together to give a gourmet taste; this requires passion! Now in Kyrenia, PÃO is the new address for a gourmet burger. If you would like to learn our story and take a look at the burgers, these pages are for you.
Where is your location and why are you there?
Our place is in central Kyrenia, opposite the Law Courts.
It was important for us to be in the town center, and we
also, believe that the Turkish district will develop over
the coming years and we wanted to be a pioneer in this
sense.
How do you define your burgers?
Yes, we can call it a gourmet burger. We
construct our hamburgers from the bread to
patties. We do not use any additives in our
patties, we serve them in their purest form,
which will definitely attract meat lovers like us.
Was PÃO burger station your dream? How long have you
been making plans for this place?
Opening a burger restaurant was actually something we
have had in mind for many years. We are two partners
in PÃO and we were working in different sectors before
the pandemic, the pandemic period was actually a bit
of an epiphany for us and we decided to make this
a complete change and take a step to realize our dreams.
After finding a suitable location for PÃO in February,
things developed quickly and PÃO opened in April.
Is there a story about giving your burgers city names?
Actually yes, PÃO means bread in the Portuguese
language and our story begins here. The common
factor with almost all products on our menu is that
they are served between bread and so, inspired by this,
we wanted to give the names of cities in Portuguesespeaking
countries to our burgers. For example, we have
a 4-decker burger named Rio, named as a tribute to
the huge statue of Jesus in Rio city, and we even have
a mural painting in our shop where Jesus is holding a
burger and he says, "Let them eat burgers!"
How do you determine the ingredients when preparing a hamburger recipe? What goes with what?
We wanted to combine our experience in the sector with our own taste, so we have combined products that we believe will suit each other well. For example, we know that mushrooms, cheddar, and caramelized onions would go well with burger patties, and our Porto burger, with these ingredients, is at the top of our bestseller list.
What are your dreams and goals?
We would love to be able to serve in all the cities of Cyprus. Our goal is for all of our island people to enjoy the taste of PÃO.
For now, we have a delivery service to central Kyrenia, Ozanköy to the east and Karaoğlanoğlu to the west, with an aim to serve a wider area as soon as possible.
