Background
Born in 1970, Murat Kader graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture in 1991 and received his master degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1994.
Before he established his own practice iki design group with Sema Eser Ozsaruhan, Murat Kader worked with Behruz Çinici in Turkey, Marshalek & Laughclater Architecture in Vienna-Austria and Stanford Wilk Architecture in Boston-USA. Since 1995 Murat Kader leads iki design group with Sema Eser Ozsaruhan and has played a pivotal role in most iki design group projects.
Kader’s interest lies in building technologies and design management. His practice is based on constant exploration on dynamic and revolutionary settings by which architecture could vigorously interact with interrelated fields- engineering, urbanism and design. He dedicates most of his effort to create integrated mixed-use and complex programs especially in urban regeneration areas.
As an awarded architect, he ran and delivered many projects around the world including Tanzania, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Russia and so on. He aims to design larger scale projects for enabling larger design-touched areas to be delivered and continuation of design to be realized. He believes design is able to change life by improving itself according to everyday needs, protecting its user and serving to community as well.
